Hello!

I picked up a new door mat this past weekend.  A very spring-themed coir mat in delightful colors.  I am ready for spring.  I'm always ready for spring.  The winter has been mild this year but that does not change the fact that we are all ready for spring.

Coir matting is made from stiff coconut fibers bound together usually in a vinyl backing.  This makes them perfect as entrance mats since they are able to capture moisture and dirt from shoe soles. They are considered the most durable of all entrance floor mats.  And, they are ideal for use in moderate to heavy traffic areas and can be used indoors or out.

The problem I have encountered is that the design eventually wears off.  The dyes used for these designs are durable enough, but with repeated foot traffic, they are naturally going to start to fade. Fortunately the mats are not very expensive, so you can replace them without guilt.  Use the faded mats in other areas.  It is good to have one in the garden shed.  Another in the mudroom or at the rear entrance to your home.

It's time to start thinking about spring decor.  Start off your spring with a beautiful new entrance mat at your front door to welcome friends and family.
