Discreet Cottonelle Storage for the Powder Room

Today we are going to talk about Cottonelle Wipes.  Our discussion will be less about the use and more about the presentation.  We all know that keeping Cottonelle Wipes in the bathroom is a good idea, but you want to present them to company and guests who may be staying overnight in a subtle way.  I found a great dispenser that I would like to share with you today.

First, before going any further, I want to add that I am aware of the dispensers that are readily available in supermarkets and big box retailers, and I have used those in the past.  They are certainly a good option, but I was looking for something a little more sturdy and that would kind of fade into the room.  I think I found that in this dispenser.

So, as we all know, this is what a bag of Cottonelle Wipes looks like.  This bag contains 168 wipes.  It is resealable, so you can place as many as 60 wipes in the new dispenser and then seal this bag and store until ready to refill.

The packaging information tells the story.  "Discreet, elegant storage for flushable wipes".  That is what we are looking for in the powder room.

The dispenser we are discussing today is from OXO Good Grips.  Who doesn't love all things OXO?  Their designs are always pleasing to the eye, utilitarian and high quality.  You see on the label above that this dispenser holds up to 60 wipes and has a seal to help keep them from drying out.  I have had problems in the past with other dispensers allowing too much airflow inside and the wipes drying out.  You actually end up spending more money with the less expensive dispensers with ineffective seals because the wipes dry out and you are tossing them and constantly replacing with a new stack.

Once you have the dispenser out of the box, just press on the front of the lid to open.  Inside you will find this weighted plate which allows you to remove one wipe at a time.  (You will remove the plastic insert that is underneath this plate before filling the container.)

Here we are with the plastic insert removed.  A nice large tub which will hold up to 60 wipes.

In with our wipes and then the weighted plate on top.  The weight works quite nicely.  The wipes are perforated and the weight is just heavy enough so that they tear on the perforation.

Finally, in their place.  You see also that I have one of the Febreze Small Space air fresheners hidden behind two small faux topiaries.  Much nicer than just plopping it down next to the dispenser.

So there you have it.  Sort of a sensitive topic that is not discussed in polite conversation, but one that needs to be addressed nonetheless.  I hope that this will give some guidance to young people who are just setting up housekeeping or an alternative for those who are already established in their home.
