Our Final Day in Savannah

Our trip to Savannah came to an end all too soon.  We packed up the car on Saturday morning and headed for the city.  We needed to be out of the house by 11:00 AM.

We made a few trips through the house to make sure we did not forget anything.  I collected the trash from all the trashcans and put it all in one bag and took it with us.  We locked up the house and bade farewell.  We stopped by the sales office on our way out and dropped off the key and the parking pass, ... and the bag of trash.  They were surprised and pleased that we gather up the trash before leaving.

When we arrived in the city for our trolley car tour, we were met with closed streets.  Fortunately, Bev and Jillian had arrived before we did and sent us a text message alerting us to the parade that was taking place that morning.  Detour, detour, detour.  Finally we found a place to park and we met Bev and Jillian on River Street at Wet Willie's for breakfast.  We did a little shopping and then jumped back on the trolley which took us back to our car.  In the end it all worked out just fine.  There was just a little jumble early in the morning due to the parade.  We said goodbye to B & J and made our way to the airport.

We printed our boarding passes and checked our bags and made our way to the gate.  I had to get a photo of this restaurant/bar in the airport near our gate.  The entire airport is like being in a clubhouse.  It is like no other airport I have ever visited.  Just beautiful.

Our flight to Atlanta was on-time, as usual with Delta.

On the plane.  Another full flight.  All the flights were full.  It is amazing to me that all flights are full no matter where you are going these days.

We were just about to leave Atlanta.  It was just at the edge of darkness.  This was our neighboring plane.  It was probably full also.

And a few minutes later we had backed away from the gate and we started our trip home.

So, what can I tell you about our trip.  I can tell you that we have decided not to spend anymore time and money traveling here and there searching for a place to retire.  The Landings is the place for us. Now we just need to take the next four years to get our house, or house(s), in order so that we are ready to make the move.  It was a wonderful trip and I am so glad we traveled down to take a look. It is reassuring to know that you have found your perfect place to retire and that you no longer need to spend countless days or weeks or months researching and traveling.
