New Siding, Part II

The guys were back yesterday.  They removed the siding from the other end of the house.

So now the entire upper level of the house on the rear is ready to be insulated and then covered over with new sheathing and then new siding.  Today's project is sealing.  They will return and use a spray sealant on all of the areas where it has been determined that air is leaking either into or out of the house.  We requested this in addition to the new insulation.  Summer cooling and winter heating bills here in the mid-Atlantic can be astronomical.  Anything you can do to cut down on those costs is a good thing.

When I got home last night I noticed that we had a new piece of art on the Earth Box garden. Actually, it is a piece of the siding that was removed from the house which made it's way onto this support.  On a different topic, look at the tomato plants.  Both on our side of the wall and on Ann's side.  They are thriving.  Once the continual rain and overcast days passed and the heat set in, they took off.  So we are just getting tomatoes from the garden now.  And they are delicious.
