We Added a Little "Curb" Appeal - Literally!

This front bed was in bad need of attention.  It had become overgrown and unruly and you really couldn't tell where the bed stopped and the lawn started.  When I arrived home on a recent evening, Steven was busy at work.  Below is the result of his hard work.

Peonies and roses are what he chose for this bed.  It looks very nice all cleaned up and with new plantings.  We will add a layer of mulch for added appeal.

These roses are a pinkish/red color.  Quite beautiful.  Roses can be difficult to grow.  They are prone to disease.  Some roses are susceptible to black spot, mildew and rust.  Fortunately, there are disease resistant varieties available today.  But keep in mind that what may be a disease-resistant variety in one area may not be in another.  Where you live makes a difference.  Be certain to check with your nursery.  And check online.  You will find lots of great information to help with your decision of which rose will work for you.
