A Follow-Up to Our New Phone Installation

On August 17, we talked about our new phone upgrade.  Click here for a link to that post.  During our upgrade we had one issue that needed to be resolved and we finally got that done last week.  Read on to see what we did.

The new phone came with this very long telephone cord, but no short cord.  Years ago when you bought a new phone, there was generally a long telephone cord and then a short cord if you wanted to mount it on the wall.  Things have changed and the short cords are no longer included in the box. Many people no longer have a landline.  They rely solely on their cell phone.  Yet another change in the times.  This jumble of phone cord would not do.

I drove all over the place looking for a short cord.  I tried Radio Shack, Walmart, Target, Best Buy and Sears.  No short cords.  Where did I eventually find it?  Where you find everything these days. Amazon.com.  We needed a six inch cord and I found it, ordered it, and it was here in a couple days.

Out with the old cord and in with the new.  What a nice, clean installation.  This looks very smart in this location.

And, as you can see above, no more phone cord.  Everything fit nice and neatly, tucked away.  So, I'm just letting you know that if you decide to upgrade your phone system and you want to mount it on the wall, you will most likely need to visit Amazon.com for the phone cord.
