Bunnies and Hyacinths and Herbs, Oh My!!!

Several weeks ago. on the Welcome to Crest Avenue blog, we talked about planting herbs.  We found these seeds pods at Walmart and were anxious to get them planted and get our herbs growing.

We had good luck with the dill and cilantro.  The basil did not make it.  So we decided to remove the basil which was not doing well at all, and replace it with more cilantro.  We love cilantro.  In the midst of caring for our herbs, we added a beautiful white hyacinth to the mix and some bunnies showed up also.  See below.

In the background is our second planting of cilantro, which is doing very well.  I love how the bunny is looking right into the camera in this shot.  Although it is sort of a menacing look.

Here is our white hyacinth which unfurls a little more each day.  They are so beautiful and so fragrant.  I love the smell of hyacinth and I cannot wait until this one is fully opened.  Not only for the beauty but the scent.

On the other side of the window shelf, we have more cilantro in the back and dill nearer the front. And another bunny.

Tucked behind the hyacinth is yet another bunny.  Where did all these bunnies come from?  They must know that it will soon be Easter.  Actually, we found these at Target in the bins of assorted goodies as you enter the store.  They were on a bottom shelf, tucked away so that you would never see them.  But we did!  I love the burlap bows around their necks.

And finally, a look at our jade plant which is doing quite well and seems to love getting the morning sun.

The little bunnies were incredibly inexpensive and make a nice addition to our planting shelf in the kitchen.  Little touches like adding the bunnies make all the difference.  And you feel even better when you know you got a good deal on them.
